Profile
I am 38 years old and am in Cosmetology school for the second time around! After completing Cosmetology school in 1989, I gave up on the business after a few years of working, and while going through a divorce at the time, took another job that I considered to be a more "stable" income for me and my children. Naturally, I grew to regret my decision and was unfulfilled in any other field I attempted to work in. To return to the hair industry, however, I learned that I must go completely through the program again and re-apply for my state license. For many more years, I was stubbornly unwilling to attend beauty school again, and could not fathom paying for the expense another time. Finally though, I made the decision to re-apply to Cosmetology school because I was never satisfied with the reality of the career I had let slip through my hands. I am now in my third semester of school and am enjoying getting to know the beauty business again. I am especially excited about all the changes that have made the industry more fun than ever and although I am almost twice the age of my fellow students, am finding my place in the field that I love so dearly, once again. I am living proof that it is never too late to take the plunge, even if you have taken the plunge and failed in years past. Most of all, I cannot wait to get a job and get paid for doing what I absolutely love!
